Since 2000, the beginning of Kiwiherb, a critical part of Kiwiherb’s philosophy is to combine science with proven traditional herbal medicines, validated by modern research.

Our manufacturing plant is accredited by Medsafe as a GMP facility. This means all products are subject to intensive testing and monitoring, ensuring the safety and consistency of each batch. Phil is an experienced phytotherapist and has been in practice for over 28 years. Before pursuing herbal medicine, he worked as a pharmacist for 10 years and undertook research on antidepressant drugs and serotonin, for his Master’s degree in Pharmacology.
Phil was brought up in Tokomaru Bay and Gisborne on the East Coast of New Zealand’s North Island. From a young age he was surrounded by people with a love of growing things, including his parents who competed with each other to try and have the best tomatoes on the plate for Christmas day. He has a great passion for New Zealand native plants and their many health benefits. With that in mind, Phil has formulated many of the Kiwiherb products with New Zealand natives where possible.
He has lectured and presented at colleges and conferences in New Zealand, Australia and the UK, and written extensively on practitioner herbal subjects for many years. Phil is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy at the University of Auckland and a key strategist behind Kiwiherb’s trusted formulas.
